Cookies
The small files this site keeps in your browser, what each one is for, and how to get rid of them.
We use cookies to run the shop — to remember what is in your basket and to keep you signed in. We do not use them to follow you around other websites, and we do not sell anything about you to anybody.
01What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a short note this website asks your browser to keep, and hands back to us the next time you load a page. That is the whole of it. It is how a shop can remember that the tyre you picked two pages ago is still in your basket, because otherwise every page would meet you as a stranger.
02The ones the shop needs
These are set as soon as you arrive, because without them the shop does not work:
- One that keeps your basket, so it survives from page to page
- One that keeps you signed in, if you have an account
- One that remembers the language and currency you chose
- One that remembers your answer to the cookie banner — so it stops asking
None of these tells us who you are, and none of them follows you off this site. They go when your order does.
03The ones you can say no to
At the moment we run no analytics and no advertising cookies at all.
04Saying no
The banner at the bottom of the page when you first arrive lets you accept everything or keep only what the shop needs. Choosing the second one costs you nothing: the shop works exactly the same.
05Deleting them yourself
Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set and throw them away, usually under Settings, then Privacy. You can also block them altogether — but then your basket will empty itself every time you change page, which is a browser doing what you asked rather than the shop being broken.
06Questions
Anything on this page, or anything you want deleted, goes through the contact page. What we hold about you beyond cookies is set out in the privacy policy.
